Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumors
Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumor (DSRCT) is a rare and aggressive type of cancer that primarily affects young people, typically adolescents and young adults (like Steven). It usually starts in the abdomen, forming masses in the tissue that lines the inside of the abdomen and pelvis.
The Steven Vanover Foundation currently supports a clinical trial led by Shakeel Modak, M.D., at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, NY. This is one of the very few clinical trials studying treatments for desmoplastic small round cell tumors (DSRCT) in the United States.
